Meeting Place and Time: Meet at 9:50am at the High Bridge Trail Station Parking Lot, located at 1466 Camp Paradise Road, Rice, VA 23966. There are bathrooms at this site. However the visitors center is currently under renovation.

Hike Details:  We will hike some of the trail around Camp Paradise and then head over the bridge and return to the parking lot. The view from the high bridge over the Appomattox River is spectacular and is worth seeing. The trail is a disused railway track. Therefore, the trail is very straight and level but is limited shade. The hike should be about 6-7 miles. The bridge is 0.3 miles from the parking lot. For those wishing for a less strenuous hike, they can turn back at any point in the trail to return to the parking lot. We will begin hiking promptly at 10 am.. Since this is an out and back hike along the trail, you can customize the length of the hike to suit your needs. It could be hot – remember to bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Since this is in the middle of nowhere, you may want to bring some snacks.
