Join us for our monthly maintenance trip on our section of the Appalachian Trail! ODATC maintains the 19.1 miles of Trail just south of Shenandoah National Park, from Reeds Gap to Rockfish Gap. Section maintainers visit the section often, trimming back vegetation in the summer, clearing debris, and identifying any problems that will need more help to address. On monthly work trips such as this one, we tackle larger or more complex projects such as clearing fallen trees, repairing and constructing rock steps and other treadway structures, and rehabilitating the treadway.
Bring a lunch and expect to spend the full day working on the Trail!
