Tim Gilbert (804-304-8841) and Ann Lankey (804-337-1771) will lead a hike November 19 in the vicinity of Byrd and Maymont Parks. We will meet at 2701 Police Memorial Way. Park along the road and gather at the large elm tree. We will stroll around the lake, stopping by the restrooms. From there we will head toward the Carillon and down the road to the Pump House. We will continue along the river and the edge of Maymont. From there we will climb the hill near Texas Beach, enter Maymont from Hampton Street, and pass through Maymont before returning to our starting point.
This hike is a bit over 4 miles. The terrain is fairly easy except for the climb up to the Maymont entrance, which is part stairs and rock steps but pretty short. Meet at 9:50 AM.
