Steve Parker (Stephen.parker4@verizon.net or 804-955-7179) and Jay Henderson (hendje3@gmail.com or 804-244-2287) invite you to join them for an approximate 5 -mile hike around the downtown James River trail. Meet at 9:50 AM at the Flood Wall Parking Lot.
The parking lot is located on Semmes Ave, at the intersection with 7th street. It is near (underneath) the south side of the 9th street bridge.
We will begin hiking promptly at 10:00 AM. The walk will head out along the flood wall walk. We will cross the James River via Mayo’s bridge (14th Street). We then will head towards Brown’s Island via the canal walk and then go to Belle Isle before returning to the parking lot via the Buttermilk trail. A shorter trail option (total 3 miles) is to return to the parking lot via the Potterfield Bridge from Brown’s Island.
