Please make your plans to attend the next club meeting at the Libbie Mill Library (LOCATION CHANGE) on Tuesday, March 11th, beginning with socializing at 6:30. The meeting will start promptly at 7:00pm. Our business meeting will include a vote on changes to the club's Bylaws associated with the club's approval as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It will also include a board election for a short term until November, which will realign our election terms with the club's bylaws. You will receive separate notice on these business matters.
Our speaker will be Kristi Orcutt, owner of RVA Goats and Honey, a small business run out of our local farm by Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield, Virginia. They have over 100 animals and use goats and sheep to clear brush, weeds, and invasive species. For over 20 years, Kristi worked in environmental education in parks and gardens in the RVA area before moving to farming full time. In addition to working with the animals, Kristi gives talks and presentations on beekeeping to clubs and classrooms.
