For our first time back after the hot summer break, let's do a tried-and-true local hike: Maymont and Byrd Park. We'll start at the Maymont Nature Center (off Shields Lake Dr), walk around Byrd Park's three lakes, take the Vita course back to Maymont, and stroll around Maymont until we return to our parked cars. 4-5 miles, with options to drop out early if need be. Lunch afterwards in Carytown or on West Cary Street is optional.
Meet at 9:50 in the northern section of the Maymont Nature Center Parking Lot (near the picnic shelter). Pre-registration not required. Text or call hike leader Anne-Marie McCartan at 757-345-1395 with any questions. Hope to see you then!
